DR. JESSICA DEE

Chiropractor & Clinic Director

I grew up in Orono and attended school in Newcastle and Bowmanville, I was also heavily involved in the community through the Orono Girl Guides Association; I am so thrilled to serve my hometown!

I have worked with organizations like the UOIT Ridgebacks hockey team and the Whitby Dunlops Senior A men's hockey team as an athletic trainer. I graduated from UOIT with a Bachelors' degree in Health Sciences (Honours), specializing in Kinesiology before attending CMCC in Toronto to become a Chiropractor. I have been drawn to the Chiropractic profession since I was a kid, I even did a speech on backpack safety in the 8th grade! After injuring my back in university and seeking care from a Chiropractor, I was sold.

I love helping people move better & recover from injuries. I have experience treating pain in the back, neck, shoulders, knees, hips, ankles, wrists, and have a special interest in helping women tackle pregnancy related discomfort. I am also trained to provide baseline concussion testing, as well as, assess and treat patients post-concussion. I am trained to analyze the cause and repercussions of your pain and offer valuable injury therapy and drug-free pain relief.

CHRISTINE JOHANSEN

Clinical Therapist & Clinic Director

I am a Clinical Therapist who is passionate about treating children, youth, and their families, using approaches that are tailored to best meeting my client’s unique needs and challenges. I am dedicated to meeting my clients where they are at in their individual process, and working with them to achieve improvements and create opportunity for them to be the person they want to be. The majority of my work has involved at-risk children & youth who are struggling with bullying, violence, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideations, family conflict, sexual abuse, self-esteem, and anxiety.

I am also able to provide prevention and intervention support for families who are struggling with specific challenges within the family unit or families who are in crisis. I take a unique, creative approach to therapy & counseling with all of my clients by incorporating self-regulation, expression, and psycho-education into most treatment approaches. Treatment approaches include art/play therapy, psychoanalytical theory/talk therapy, attachment based therapy, family systems theory, mindfulness, trauma focused, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

I have been working in the mental health field for over 10 years and have experience working in the following settings: mental health hospitals, residential treatment centers, college campuses, elementary schools, youth correctional facilities, my own private practice, and alongside the Durham Regional Police Department. Education is something I'm passionate about and to date I have completed a degree in both Criminology (Honours) and Psychology (Honours), a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, and I am currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology and a second Doctorate Degree in Forensic Psychology. I also teach psychology and forensic psychology classes at Durham College to foster my passion for continual learning.

Apart from my career and my schooling I love spending time with my family. My husband and I have 3 wonderful little boys that we enjoy vacationing with, spending summer weekends at our cottage with, and exploring new places.

NATALIE FOOTE

Registered Massage Therapist

I grew up in Newcastle & later moved to Bewdley prior to attending post-secondary school. I'm so thrilled to be back in Clarington!

I am a graduate of the Massage Therapy Program at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Peterborough. I am an active member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and the Registered Massage Therapist's Association of Ontario.

I have been working at Ste. Anne's Spa in Grafton for several years, which allowed me to hone my skills as a massage therapist. I joined the team at Clarington Total Wellness in November 2018 to further help people in a more clinical setting with injuries, dysfunctions, and muscle soreness. Working in both a spa & clinic gives me a unique skill set and ability to cater to individuals who require relaxation massage, rehabilitation massage, or a mixture of both.

Through the use of massage therapy, I am able to optimize health and well-being, and improve physical function; while relieving or preventing physical dysfunction, pain and the effects of stress on the body. I look forward to meeting you & helping you work towards your health goals!

SEBRINA WILSON

Registered Holistic Nutritionist

I am a registered Holistic Nutritionist with a passion for health!I want to help you become the vibrant, energetic person you deserve to be!

I graduated from Nutraphoria School for Holistic Nutrition in 2018 but I have been interested in holistic health for many, many years. I am a mother to four wonderful children and after they were born I started researching the best way to take care of them nutritionally. When I was 30 years old I found myself tired, sick, and unable to keep up with them, so I inevitably would end up on the couch everyday watching them play instead of being truly involved. I knew there had to be a way to help myself so I went to see a holistic practitioner who taught me that the food we eat has such a big effect on our health - not just physical, but mental health as well! I started eating whole foods, learning how to cook, and exercising, which skyrocketed my energy levels... I knew I was on the right path!

Heath is a journey, not a destination. I love to help people learn to enjoy healthy foods; together we can make simple changes that have a big impact. I will help you find the best plan that works for your life and, most importantly, your body. As a Holistic Nutritionist I focus on treating the root cause of health disorders, rather than just the symptoms. After a thorough health history I will customize a plan to help bring your body into balance!
